LakeSat – Synergetic use of earth observation data for scientific analysis of inland water bodies

The LAKESAT project aims to develop an application routine for scientific analysis of inland water bodies. The routine enables the use of various sensor types with high spatial and spectral resolution to investigate water colour (i.e. water constituents such as chlorophyll, dissolved inorganic and organic sediments) as well as bathymetry and bottom coverage in shallow water areas.

ParLU (PARaguay Land Use) - Protecting Forest for the Benefit of Climate, People, and Nature in Paraguay – a Multi-Level Approach

In the context of the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety, WWF is funding this research project to analyse the potential of remote sensing techniques to both assess and quantify forest environmental services in Paraguay. Aim of the IKI project is using innovative approaches for reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+) to develop models for payments for environmental services. The main goal is creating new income opportunities for local people, while at the same time conserving intact areas of the Atlantic rainforest and areas in the Pantanal region.

Entwicklung eines EnMap-Verfahrens zur Bestimmung von sublitoralen marinen Makrophyten (KelpMap)

Im Rahmen des Projektes Kelpmap sollen die Möglichkeiten zur Bestimmung von sublitoralen marinen Makrophyten, hier am Beispiel großer Brauntangwälder, mittels hyperspektraler Fernerkundung in einem hierarchischen Ansatz untersucht werden.

EnMap-Nutzungsvorbereitung zur Unterstützung der Hochschulforschung mit HyMap-Hyperspektraldaten

EnMAP (Environmental Mapping and Analysis Program) ist die erste deutsche hyperspektrale Satellitenmission, welche ab 2013 spektral und räumlich hochaufgelöste Daten zur Untersuchung ökosystemarer Parameter, z.B.im Bereich von Land- und Forstwirtschaft, Geologie, Bodendegradation, Küsten und Inlandgewässer.
